MS Dhoni unavailable from cricket for paramilitary regiment

MS Dhoni will be out of the game for two months to serve his paramilitary regiment, which means he’ll miss the Indian team’s tour of the West Indies.

An Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Territorial Army, it is learnt that Dhoni will be spending better part of the next two months with his regiment. Rishabh Pant is expected to be first wicketkeeper in all three formats while Wriddhiman Saha will be Pant’s understudy in the Tests.

“Not a retirement hint, just a two-month sabbatical to serve his paramilitary regiment to which he had committed before,” a BCCI source has said.
