Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 57th birthday yesterday in style. He has given lots of superhit movies in his career. Some of his good movies did not performed well on box office but his acting skill was exceptional on those movies.
How many of these underrated Shahrukh movies have you seen:
Dil Se
Directed by Mani Ratnam, Dil Se explores the 7 stages of love as depicted in Arabic literature. The film is raw, dramatic and unique and unfurls like a theatre play. Shahrukh who plays Aman Mathur, falls passionately in love with a mysterious woman played by Manisha Koirala. This is coupled with an explosive musical score by A R Rahman.
Swades We, the people
Swades directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar is a heartfelt film on nationalism in its true sense, accepting one’s roots and coming home. When Shahrukh says “Main nahi manta hamara desh duniya ka sabse mahaan desh hai; lekin yeh zaroor manta hoon; ki hum mein kabliyat hai, taqat hai, apne desh ko mahaan banane ki.”, one cannot help but feel moved.
Yes Boss
Yes Boss is a complete entertainer, with Shahrukh Khan utterly convincing and adorable as the office sidekick to a grumpy boss. His genuine charm, imperfection and comic timing make this movie special. Not to forget, Shahrukh and Juhi are adorable together.
Pardes
Released in 1997, we all remember this movie from its iconic music like Ye Dil Deewana, Meri mehbooba, Dol dil mil rahe hain. The film may be melodramatic in moments, but Shahrukh Khan again steals the show. His eyes are enough to make the audience root for him.
Kabhi Haan, Kabhi Naa
Released in 1994, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa seems ahead of its time. Played to perfection by Shahrukh, Sunil is in most ways an anti-hero. He is confused, afraid, vulnerable and sometimes dishonest. Yet, one roots for this character for his humanness.
Baazigar
Best Negative role with best dialogue delivery who can forget about Shah Rukh Khan acting.
