In an exciting match of the Women’s T20 World Cup, Team India defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in Dubai yesterday. Chasing a target of 106 runs, India successfully reached 108 for 4 in just 18.5 overs, with 13 balls to spare.
Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur was forced to retire hurt after scoring 29 runs from 24 balls. Shafali Verma contributed with 32 runs off 35 balls, while Jemimah Rodrigues added 23 runs off 28 balls to help secure the win.
On the bowling front, Arundhati Reddy shone for India, taking three crucial wickets that restricted Pakistan to 105/8 in their 20 overs. Pakistan had earlier won the toss and opted to bat first but struggled to build a competitive total.

With this victory, India has two group-stage matches left to play. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, and India is keen to maintain their winning momentum. Their next matches are against Sri Lanka on October 9 and Australia on October 13.
In today’s Group B action, England will face South Africa in Sharjah. The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM IST.
