Women’s Hockey Legend Rani Rampal Retires from Playing
Indian women’s hockey icon Rani Rampal has officially retired from her playing career, marking the end of a legendary chapter in Indian sports. Rani’s incredible journey on the field began when she made her international debut at just 14 years old during the Olympic qualifiers in Kazan in 2008, where she set a record as the youngest woman to play at the senior level for India. Over her 15-year career, Rani played in 254 international matches and netted an impressive 120 goals, becoming one of the sport’s most celebrated athletes.
Rani’s impact on Indian hockey is monumental. She was a vital part of the national team that clinched a silver medal in the 2009 Asia Cup and later played a decisive role in securing a bronze at the 2014 Asian Games.
