Amit Shah Unveils BJP’s Sankalp Patra for Jharkhand Assembly elections
Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the party’s manifesto, Sankalp Patra, for the Jharkhand Assembly elections at a ceremony in Ranchi today.
During his address, Mr. Shah stated that if the BJP is elected to power, it will implement a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Jharkhand, though the policy will exclude the tribal community. He emphasized the need to address Bangladeshi infiltration, especially in the Santhal Pargana region, which he claimed has altered the state’s demographic balance.
Mr. Shah further alleged that infiltrators have acquired tribal land by marrying tribal women. To counter this, he announced that, upon passing the necessary legislation, the lands of tribal people would be restored to them retroactively. Additionally, under the proposed “Gogo-Didi” Yojana, each woman in the state would receive ₹2,100 per month. All families would also be offered LPG cylinders at a subsidized rate of ₹500, with two free cylinders provided on Diwali and Rakshabandhan.
Mr. Shah pledged support for unemployed youth, promising ₹2,000 per month for two years to graduates and postgraduates. He also committed to creating five lakh job opportunities over five years and assured that 2,87,000 existing government vacancies would be filled promptly.
