In a significant move, JioStar launched JioHotstar on February 14, integrating two popular OTT platforms, JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar, into a single entity.

This development comes on the heels of the merger that led to the formation of JioStar, a joint venture between Viacom18 and Star India.

Key Highlights of JioHotstar

  • Huge Content Library: Over 300,000 hours of content, including live sports coverage.
  • Massive User Base: A staggering 50 crore users.
  • Accessibility: No subscription required for viewing content; subscription plans start at Rs 149 for an enhanced experience.
  • Seamless Transition: Existing subscribers of JioCinema or Disney+ Hotstar can easily transition to JioHotstar.
