9th ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Begins Tomorrow in Sharjah

The ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is set to kick off tomorrow in Sharjah, UAE. India will face New Zealand in their opening match on the 4th of October. A total of ten teams will compete in this prestigious tournament, which runs from October 3rd to October 20th.

India has been placed in Group A, alongside Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Group B includes Bangladesh, England, Scotland, South Africa, and the West Indies. The Indian women’s team is yet to secure an ICC title, and this tournament presents a golden opportunity for Harmanpreet Kaur and her squad to make history.

India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test: India Secures 7-Wicket Victory Over Bangladesh

In cricket, India secured a seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the second Test of the two-match series in Kanpur. Bangladesh was bowled out for 146, setting India a target of 95 runs. Indian bowlers Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah each claimed three wickets.

During the chase, India started aggressively but lost two early wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored with 51 runs, followed by Virat Kohli’s 29, while Rishabh Pant guided India to victory with seven wickets in hand. This win gave India a 2-0 sweep of the series.

India also strengthened its lead in the 2023-2025 World Test Championship, earning an additional 12 points. With a points percentage of 74.24 after 11 matches, India remains well ahead of Australia and Sri Lanka.
