ICC T20 World Cup: Afghanistan Defeat Bangladesh to Reach First Semi-Finals; Australia Out

ICC T20 World Cup: In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Cricket, Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by 8 runs by the DLS method in a nail-biting match at Kingston in St. Vincent.

With this win, Afghanistan advanced to the semifinals as the fourth team and, in the process, knocked Australia out of the World Cup. Medium fast bowler Naveen-Ul-Haq of Afghanistan won the title of Player of the Match for bagging four wickets and locking the victory for Afghanistan.

The other three teams that have already booked berths in the semifinals are India, England, and South Africa.

India will face the defending champions, England, in Guyana in the semi-final on Thursday. Speaking on the prospect of India in the scheduled semifinal on Thursday, former Indian cricketer Madan Lal said India has a fair chance to win as India has a good bowling attack.

Leading female cricketer Anjum Chopra feels a 200+ score in the semi-final is what India should target against England.
