IND vs AUS: India records maiden Test victory over Australia with an eight-wicket win in the one-off Women’s Test at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The Indian women’s cricket team scripted history on Sunday as the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side registered their maiden Test win over Australia. In the one-off Test, India women defeated Australia women by eight wickets at the Wankhede Stadium to secure back-to-back wins on home soil. Before this match, the same Indian team triumphed over England in a one-off Test match.
Batting first, Australia could only manage 219, with Pooja Vastrakar and Sneh Rana combining for seven wickets. The hosts replied back with 406 all out, thanks to half-centuries from Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma.
Earlier, Australia were 233 for the loss of 5 wickets at Stumps in their second innings against India, on Saturday. India were all out for 406 runs with a lead of 187 runs in their first innings.
