Ind vs Ban T20I: Samson Promoted, Dube Out, and Two Debutants Likely to Play
Ind vs Ban T20I: After a triumphant 2-0 win in the Test series, the Indian cricket team is set to face Bangladesh in the first T20I of a three-match series on Sunday, October 6, at the newly inaugurated Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. This match marks Suryakumar Yadav’s first home game as the full-time captain of India in T20 cricket.
With the upcoming Test series against New Zealand on the horizon, India’s red-ball specialists, including Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav, are not part of the T20 squad facing Bangladesh.
India’s Probable XI for the First T20I vs Bangladesh
India has selected only one specialist opener in the 15-member squad, guaranteeing a starting role for Abhishek Sharma. With no other designated opener, Sanju Samson is likely to be promoted up the order to open alongside Sharma.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav is expected to occupy his usual spot at number three, while Riyan Parag, who played in all three T20Is against Sri Lanka, will likely bat at number four. Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to make a comeback after a two-month break, taking the fifth position, followed by Rinku Singh at six.
Washington Sundar will likely assume the role of a spin-bowling all-rounder at number seven, while Ravi Bishnoi is expected to be the sole specialist spinner in the lineup, meaning Varun Chakravarthy’s return will have to wait. Arshdeep Singh will spearhead the pace attack, joined by debutants Harshit Rana and Mayank Yadav.
