In men’s cricket, India secured a commanding seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the first T20 International of the three-match series, held in Gwalior last night.
Chasing a target of 128 runs, India showcased a strong batting performance, achieving the win in just 11.5 overs. Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav each contributed 29 runs, while Hardik Pandya delivered a match-winning knock, remaining unbeaten with 39 runs off just 16 balls.
For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz managed to claim one wicket each, but it was not enough to stop India’s aggressive chase.
Earlier, Bangladesh, after being asked to bat, was bowled out for a modest total of 127 runs with one ball remaining in their innings. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the top scorer for Bangladesh, finishing with an unbeaten 35 runs.

India’s Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy were the stars with the ball, each taking three wickets to restrict Bangladesh to a below-par score. Arshdeep Singh was named the Player of the Match for his excellent bowling.
The second T20I between India and Bangladesh is scheduled to be played at Arun Jaitley International Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday at 7 PM.
