India is set to face South Africa in the second T20 match of a four-game series at St George’s Park Cricket Ground in Gqeberha, South Africa, this evening. The Indian team is aiming to build on their strong start in the series. The match will begin at 8:30 PM Indian Standard Time.
India claimed a convincing win in the series opener on Friday, defeating South Africa by 61 runs. Batting first, India scored 202 for 8 in their 20 overs. South Africa struggled in their chase, managing only 141 runs before being bowled out. Wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson starred with a remarkable performance, scoring his second consecutive T20 century, making him the first Indian player to achieve this feat in T20s. Spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi played a crucial role with three wickets each, dismantling South Africa’s batting line-up.
Samson was named Player of the Match for his outstanding innings. The third match of the series will take place on Wednesday in Centurion, followed by the fourth and final game on Friday in Johannesburg. Suryakumar Yadav leads the Indian team, while Aiden Markram captains South Africa.
