In IPL Cricket, Mumbai Indians defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs in the Eliminator at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai last night to book their place in the Qualifier 2.
Electing to bat, Rohit Sharma-led side scored 182 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs with the help of Cameron Green’s 41 runs. For Lucknow, Naveen-ul-Haq scalped four wickets. Chasing the target, Lucknow were bundled out for 101 in 16.3 overs.
With this Lucknow have been eliminated from the title race, while Mumbai Indians will face Gujarat Titans in the second Qualifier at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad tomorrow. The losing team will also be eliminated from the tournament while winning side will play against Chennai Super Kings in the final on coming Sunday. Chennai have already qualified for the final for the record 10th time after beating Gujarat Titans in the first Qualifier match.
