Lucknow Super Giants shattered records by signing wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant for a staggering ₹27 crore, making him the most expensive player in IPL history.
Shreyas Iyer and Others Command Massive Bids
Punjab Kings splurged ₹26.75 crore to secure IPL-winning captain Shreyas Iyer, while also spending ₹18 crore each on spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and bowler Arshdeep Singh. Kolkata Knight Riders made headlines too, acquiring Venkatesh Iyer for an impressive ₹23.75 crore.
Day 1 Highlights
A total of 72 players found teams on the first day, while 12 remained unsold, including notable names like David Warner and Jonny Bairstow.
Remaining Team Purses
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) emerged as the team with the largest remaining purse of ₹30.65 crore, followed by Mumbai Indians with ₹26.10 crore, and Punjab Kings with ₹22.50 crore.
Day 2 Expectations
The auction resumes today, with 33 capped players set to go under the hammer, followed by an accelerated round for both capped and uncapped players. Teams will nominate 25 players each for the final session.
