In the Women’s Asia Cup T20 Cricket, India secured a comfortable 78-run victory over UAE in Dambulla, Sri Lanka on Sunday.
With this victory, India all but guaranteed themselves a semi-final spot. Put in to bat after UAE won the toss, India scored 201 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 66 runs while wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh’s unbeaten 64 took the Indian side to their highest T20 score. Chasing the target of 202 set by India, UAE could only muster to score 123 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs.
With this victory, the Indian side now are at the top of the points table in Group A with 4 points from 2 matches. India will next take on Nepal on Tuesday.
Nuno Borges Beat Nadal To Lift Swedish Open Men’s Singles Trophy
In Swedish Open Tennis today, Nuno Borges of Portugal defeated Spaniard Rafael Nadal in the final, 6-3, 6-2, to win the men’s singles tennis title at Bastad in Sweden.
It was Borges’s first ATP Tour title. He became the second Portuguese player in the Open Era to win a main tour singles title, after João Sousa. It was also Nadal’s first final since the 2022 French Open.
