Women’s T20 WC: New Zealand beats Pakistan by 54 runs

In the Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup, New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 54 runs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium last night, becoming the second team from Group A to secure a spot in the semifinals.

After electing to bat, New Zealand posted a total of 110 for 6 in 20 overs. In response, Pakistan was bowled out for just 56 runs in 11.4 overs.

With this result, India has been knocked out of the tournament. India finished third in Group A with four points, winning two matches and losing two. Despite victories over Sri Lanka and Pakistan, India’s 58-run loss to New Zealand and a close defeat to Australia prevented them from advancing. Australia topped the group, winning all four matches, while New Zealand finished second with six points from four games.
