Amarnath Yatra 2023: The Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir Dilbag Singh on Thursday visited Baltal base camp and reviewed the security arrangements and other facilities put in place at the camp. He also inspected the deployments enroute from Srinagar to Baltal. He was accompanied by Div Com Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri and SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borker and other officers from Ganderbal District, reported Hindusthan Samachar.
During his visit, the DGP also reviewed logistic arrangements at Baltal, and enroute and also inspected parking facilities for yatri vehicles, besides the communication arrangements. He also took stock of the CCTV Cameras, drones, and additional security measures aimed to monitor the security of the Yatris. He also visited JPCR and took stock of its functioning besides taking a round of yatra camp and lungers. He also interacted with the yatris and reviewed facilities being provided at the camp.
While interacting with the officers at JPCR, the DGP emphasized maintaining high level of coordination to conduct the Amarnath Yatra smoothly and said that strict adherence to security protocols be ensured for regulating the yatra in a desired manner. He directed that all possible assistance should be provided to the yatris.
The DGP instructed the officers to supervise the arrangements personally with proper briefing to the deployed personnel in their respective jurisdictions. The DGP also directed to strengthen communication networks and real time coordination and dissemination of information. He also visited the Hospital at Baltal and reviewed the medical facilities.
While interacting with the media, the DGP said that his visit alongwith Div Com Kashmir to Baltal was aimed to review the security and other arrangements being provided to the pilgrims. He informed that better medicare facilities are available for the yatrais and added that JPCR is functioning as the coordinator between different departments besides the security agencies and pilgrims.
He said that this year additional rescue teams have been deputed for assistance and help to the yatris. Security and other arrangements are being monitored round the clock through CCTV cameras and drones, he said, adding that all the planned security arrangements have been put in place for smooth and secure Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
In the meantime, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid obeisance to Sri Guru Hargobind Ji Maharaj on his Prakash Parv at Gurudwara Chatti Padshahi, Rainawari and Gurdwara Sri Shadimarg Sahib, Pulwama.
The Lt Governor extended his heartiest greetings to the people and prayed for peace, prosperity, happiness and well-being of one and all. In his address on the occasion, the Lt Governor said Guru Hargobind Sahib ji was an embodiment of sacrifice, social justice, compassion and universal brotherhood. His blessings continue to guide the humanity on the path of peace and virtuous living, he added.
Guru Hargobind Sahib always motivated the people to embrace social equality, social justice and compassion. His life and vision of inner and outer strength, unity, brotherhood and equality of all human beings is very relevant in today’s world, the Lt Governor said.
‘Our Gurus have taught us that the path to supreme realization, to godliness starts with surrendering to God and working for social and religious harmony in the society. They have always guided us for both inner and outer journey for holistic development,’ the Lt Governor observed.
He called upon the people to join hands and work together towards building a society without discrimination and rise above narrow considerations to promote the ideals of social harmony, righteousness, truthfulness, fraternity and universalism.
