CID Returns After 6 Years; Promo Launch Coming Soon!

After six years, the beloved crime thriller CID is making a comeback! On Thursday, the makers shared an exciting update: the show’s new promo will drop on October 26. They even released a teaser clip featuring fan-favorite stars Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, and Daya Shetty. The teaser opens with a close-up of Dayanand Shetty’s intense gaze, followed by CP Pradyuman stepping out of a police car in the rain, all to the backdrop of the show’s iconic theme music.

The teaser release had fans buzzing on social media. One X user exclaimed, “Guys, finally CID season 2 is coming, I’m so excited!” Another reminisced, “I remember binge-watching this all day in my childhood… Hope they return with great stories in every episode!” However, some fans were saddened to learn that the late Dinesh Phadnis, known for his role as Inspector Freddy, won’t be returning.

Sony TV plans to unveil the first promo on October 26. While Shivaji and Aditya’s return is confirmed, other cast details remain under wraps. Reports suggest that the new season of CID, originally created by B.P. Singh and produced by Fireworks Productions, will debut in November. The series first aired on Sony Entertainment Television from January 21, 1998, to October 27, 2018.
