PM Modi Dives into Dwarka’s Depths
PM Modi embarked on an underwater adventure on Sunday, diving into the depths of the Arabian Sea off Gujarat’s coast to pay homage to Lord Krishna amidst the remains of the ancient submerged city of Dwarka.
Donning scuba gear, PM Modi immersed himself in the sacred waters, later sharing snapshots of his underwater expedition on social media platforms.
Expressing his profound experience, PM Modi tweeted, “Offering prayers in the submerged city of Dwarka was profoundly divine. I felt a profound connection to an era of spiritual magnificence and timeless devotion. May Lord Shri Krishna bless us all.” His tweets, accompanied by captivating images, swiftly circulated across social media platforms.
During his visit, PM Modi also honored the ancient city by presenting peacock feathers as a symbolic tribute to Lord Krishna, who is believed to have established Dwarka. Dwarka, steeped in mythological significance, was once a thriving metropolis that is said to have submerged into the sea centuries ago following Lord Krishna’s departure from the mortal realm.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi inaugurated the ‘Sudarshan Setu’, the nation’s longest cable-stayed bridge spanning 2.32 km over the Arabian Sea, linking Bayt Dwarka Island in Gujarat’s Devbhoomi Dwarka district to mainland Okha. Subsequently, he launched and laid the foundation stones for various development projects totaling over Rs 4150 crore in the region.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel felicitated PM Modi with a miniature statue of the Dwarkadhish temple in recognition of his endeavors.
Among the projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister is a pipeline initiative at Vadinar, involving the replacement of existing offshore lines, abandonment of the current Pipeline End Manifold (PLEM), and relocation of the entire system to a nearby site.
