Senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis is poised to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the third time. He will take the oath of office tomorrow in Mumbai, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior alliance leaders in attendance.
During a BJP Core Committee meeting held in Mumbai today, Fadnavis was unanimously elected as the legislative party leader. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, serving as BJP’s central observers, oversaw the meeting. MLAs Chandrakant Patil and Sudhir Mungantiwar proposed Fadnavis’ name, which received unanimous support from the newly elected legislators.
Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, addressing the gathering, highlighted the overwhelming mandate of Maharashtra’s 14 crore citizens as a testament to their trust in Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India. She expressed confidence that the “double-engine government,” led by Modi at the Centre and Fadnavis in Maharashtra, would drive significant progress in the state.

Devendra Fadnavis thanked Mahayuti allies and the voters of Maharashtra for their strong support. Emphasizing the campaign slogans “Ek Hai To Safe Hai” and “Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai,” he reaffirmed his government’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the people. Fadnavis assured that his administration would work tirelessly to elevate Maharashtra to a leading position in every sector.
