Airstrikes: US launches airstrikes on 2 sites in eastern Syria

Airstrikes: The US launched airstrikes on two sites in eastern Syria linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

According to media reports, the airstrikes happened in the wee hours today near Abu Kamal, a Syrian town bordering Iraq. US F-16 fighter jets struck weapons and ammunition storage facilities.

However, the US maintains that its strikes are in response to attacks on its troops and are not connected to the war between Israel and Hamas. US Air Force officials said that there have been at least 19 attacks on US bases in Syria and Iraq since the 17th of this month.
