French Open 2023: In Tennis, Carlos Alcaraz will play Novak Djokovic in a French Open semi-final on Friday after the Spanish world number one beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-2, 6-1, 7-6 (7/5). The 20-year-old Alcaraz becomes the youngest French Open men’s semi-finalist since Djokovic in 2007 after defeating 2021 runner-up Tsitsipas for the fifth time in as many attempts. Alcaraz will face Djokovic for only the second time in his career.
Earlier, World No.3 Serbian Novak Djokovic defeated World No.11 Russian Karen Khachanov 4-6, 7-6, 6-2, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the 2023 French Open in Paris. The former World No. 1 thus reached his 12th semi-final at the Roland-Garros and his 45th at Grand Slam tournaments. With this win, Djokovic now has a record of entering the Grand Slam 45 times, just one short of Roger Federer who made it 46 times before.
