India and China Reach LAC Patrolling Agreement in eastern Ladakh
India and China have reached an agreement on patrolling arrangements along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
During a media briefing in New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that the agreement could lead to disengagement and help resolve tensions that began in 2020.
He noted that extensive discussions between both sides resulted in this understanding regarding border patrolling.
On the issue of Indians who were fighting in the Russian army, Mr. Misri said about 85 Indians have returned from Russia, while nearly 20 remain.

Indian embassy officials are closely coordinating with Russian authorities from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence to secure the early release of these soldiers.
The matter has been discussed at the highest levels.
