Israel-Hamas War: 13 Israelis and 4 Thai nationals freed

Israel-Hamas War: 13 Israelis and 4 Thai nationals freed from Hamas captivity arrived in Israel on Sunday to be reunited with their families as part of a critical hostage deal.

The short-lived aid dispute that halted the deal to free captives was resolved through the mediation of Qatar and Egypt. It highlighted the fragile nature of the agreement, which calls for the exchange of 50 Israeli hostages for 150 Palestinian prisoners Hamas handed over the captives to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) late Saturday.

According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, six of the 13 Israelis released were women while seven were children and teenagers.

“The hostages have been released and are on their way to hospitals in Israel, where they will be reunited with their families,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.
