Mass Shooting in Queens: 10 Injured Outside Nightclub

Mass Shooting in Queens: At least 10 people were injured during a mass shooting outside the Amazura nightclub in Queens, New York, late Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 11:20 PM in the Jamaica neighborhood.

According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), none of the victims sustained critical injuries, and all are expected to recover. They have been transported to Long Island Jewish Hospital and Cohen’s Children Medical Center for treatment, as reported by the New York Post.

The Amazura nightclub, a venue known for hosting DJs and live performances, was holding a private party in honor of a deceased gang member at the time. Approximately 80 people were gathered outside the club waiting to enter when the shooting began, according to AMNY News.

Although the NYPD has yet to release official details, eyewitness accounts and social media posts depict a chaotic scene with police cars and ambulances surrounding the area.

Related Incidents Spark Concerns

The shooting in Queens follows another violent event in New Orleans on New Year’s Day. In that attack, a U.S. Army veteran, Shamsud Din Jabbar, drove a pickup truck into a crowd, killing 15 people and injuring dozens. Jabbar was killed in an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement. Authorities confirmed he was carrying an ISIS flag and labeled the act as terrorism.

Meanwhile, a separate incident involving a Tesla Cybertruck occurred outside President-Elect Donald Trump’s Las Vegas hotel. The parked vehicle exploded, killing a bystander near the truck. Reports indicate that fireworks, gas tanks, and camp fuel were found inside the truck.

Investigations Underway

President Joe Biden announced that law enforcement is investigating potential links between the New Orleans attack and the Cybertruck explosion. Both vehicles involved were reportedly rented from the same car-sharing platform, Turo. “We’re tracking the explosion of a Cybertruck outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas. Law enforcement and the intelligence community are investigating this as well, including whether there’s any possible connection with the attack in New Orleans,” Biden stated.

Authorities have yet to release the identities of the victims in these incidents, though several have been identified by family and associates. Investigations into the Queens shooting and related events are ongoing.
