ICC World Cup 2023 Semi-Final Announced; India vs. New Zealand and Australia vs. South Africa

ICC World Cup 2023: The match officials for the two semi-finals of the 2023 World Cup have been announced.

The World Cup, hosted by India, is on its last leg, with three games remaining to decide the winner. The first semi-final will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15, between India and New Zealand. The two teams had also met in the semi-final of the 2019 edition, which the Black Caps won.

The second semi-final of the World Cup will be played a day later at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata between South Africa and Australia.

Rod Tucker of Australia will stand in his 100th ODI during the 1st semi-final between India and New Zealand. Richard Illingworth of England will be the other on-field umpire.

An ICC media release said Joel Wilson of West Indies will be the third umpire, South Africa’s Adrian Holdstock the fourth umpire and the match referee will be Andy Pycroft of Zimbabwe.

In the second semi-final between Australia and South Africa, Richard Kettleborough of England will add to his tally as he has also reached a century of ODIs during this competition. He will be joined on the field by Nitin Menon of India, officiating in his first World Cup, while Chris Gaffaney of New Zealand will act as third umpire.

Michael Gough of England will be the fourth umpire while Javagal Srinath of India will be the match referee.
ICC Manager of Umpires and Referees Sean Easey congratulated the match officials for their efforts.
