What is H3N2 Virus?

H3N2 virus is a subtype of the influenza A virus, which is responsible for seasonal flu outbreaks. The H3N2 virus is named after the two main surface proteins on the virus, hemagglutinin (H) and neuraminidase (N).

This subtype of the influenza A virus has been responsible for several pandemics and epidemics in the past. H3N2 viruses can cause severe illness and complications, especially in older adults, young children, and people with underlying health conditions.

H3N2 viruses are constantly evolving and can mutate quickly, which makes it challenging to develop effective vaccines and treatments. Therefore, it is essential to take preventive measures like getting vaccinated, washing hands regularly, and avoiding close contact with sick people to prevent the spread of this virus.
